Jupiter Jones is a HUGE idiot. He calls himself an "MVP", but on his
website it has this:

Important Computer Security, what you MUST do:

* 1. Firewall
* 2. Windows Update
* 3. Antivirus
* 4. Spyware

WHAT A JOKE!

On a Mac, you need NONE of that. It just goes to show how clueless
Windows and their so-called "leadership" is.

His site looks like a 2 year old did it as well.

1993 is calling Jupiter!

Don't any Windows users have ANY taste?

Actually within the industry, Mac users have always been considered the
"high priests" of the computer world. What they do and say becomes the
entire direction of the rest of the industry. Apple and Mac users
created pretty much everything - everyone uses today. Windows users have
always been in the back seat, crying for mommy or daddy to invent
something new.

heee he, Vista is failing in the marketplace, just like we all
suspected. now there is confirmation.

Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer believes that sales forecasts for its new
Vista operating system may be "overly aggressive."

Meanwhile, Microsoft stock continues to plummet since the day Vista
shipped. (click on the "1m" to see the full drop)

As much as I'd like to rip on MSFT, AAPL is the same, despite the launch
of the iPhööne:

1. This has already been discussed. The amount of problems in the NG is
moot compared to Vista sales.

2. You don't have to firewall a Mac because no one cares about them. Their
numbers are so small there is no potential to hijacking a Mac.

J

Justin

Hahahaha....that's funny. Apple people and the dream world they live in...

Happy Mac
Sad Mac
Happy Mac
Sad Mac

Idiot tools...

In other words you have no source, it is just your opinion.

As for the newsgroup...
I suppose you walk in to a hospital in a city and conclude all inhabitants
are sick since a hospital is filled with sick people.
So NO, the newsgroup reference by itself does nothing to prove your
statement "while most users that install Vista "suffer"..."

J

Jupiter Jones [MVP]

Ah, now we see tour true capabilities.
You feel the need to insult others to shore up your point of view.
Those knowledgeable and competent have no need to stoop so low.
But YOU seem to need the extra boost of the insult to prove your point.
Instead of proving your point, you have displayed your own insecurities.

Probably best for you to leave this with others who share your views but are
competent.
They are around and they have no need to shore up the point with irrelevant
insults as you need.

That's the Maccie way. When you lose and argument, which is always, resort
to personal insults.

Jupiter, you are sick person for supporting such a sick platform.

You should be ashamed of yourself of putting a person's best interest
below your own.

Be gone with you.

This is a joke, right? 'Cause otherwise, it's you that is coming across as
the idiot. The letters MVP, BTW, are earned; but you wouldn't know about
that.

Stop TOP-POSTING. Don't you even know how Usenet works? You are a
complete fool by "top posting", it's the sure sign of an ignorant,
amateur poster on Usenet.

Learn a little about the internet before you call yourself MVP, will you?

S

Saucy

Duh. This is a Microsoft newsgroup, originally from Microsoft. Microsoft
software defaults to top-posting because that was the was it was done at
Microsoft internally for many years even before the World Wide Web.
Usenet/Newsgroups came along, often run on UNIX severs and bottom-posting
developed as sort of the default 'correct' way (although many people
top-post and do inline). But because the company here did top-posting and
because these are Microsoft newsgroups, top-posting is A-OK here.

So why don't *you* learn something about newsgroups ?? Eh? I know you are
not a blinking idiot, but you sure are acting like one.

No, apparently he said that they _ARE_ overly aggressive. No
conditions, no waffling. They assumed too much, and blew it.

Google and Mac, two biggest competitors comprise 2/3 of the cites. The
Reuters cite isn't a very definite article (pardon the pun) on the subject,
something about "overly aggressive" but not much else. Otherewise, it seems
all's well and that Vista is doing quite splendidly and will rake in
billions and billions in profit.
You have no idea what you are saying, do you?
Are you one of those people who figures Microsoft makes $199 out of
every sale of Vista at $199?
Y'can't argue with this success.
Of course you can!
And since you are judging 'success' as merely being 'profitable,' there
is a LOT of extra room to discuss this product.
For instance -- is it any good? is it worthwhile? Is it worth any
money? How much? Does it show any smart development, new directions,
useful ideas, etc?

"most users that install Vista"
Really?
I know some do for a large variety of reasons.
Please post your source.

There doesn't have to be any source for an opinion comment.
He wrote that most Vista users suffer -- for people who think Windows
is clumsy, crude, badly-made, and risky, that is a plain truth.
"they are seriously harming productivity across the world."
Post the source for this as well.

That's easy; have you ever seen anyone manage the Windows OS? By
installing software, by installing protection, by running maintenance,
by running defrag tools, by having to clear out junk, by having to fix
problems or conflicts, by having to do things the Microsoft way rather
than a smart or efficient way?
All of those are making people work inefficiently. By making them
happen, Microsoft promotes inefficiency. QED.
