Menu bar missing; Start button problems

Hi.
I just installed XP with SP2. All of a sudden, my menu bar (File, View,
Options Help...) is missing from all folders. The standard buttons, address
bar, links, customize are all there. When I right click on it, the Menu bar
option is not even there to be selected. If I press F11, it shows Menu as an
option but selecting it does not bring the bar up.

Also, when I press the Start button in Classic Start, it does not open at
all. If I switch the properties, it will open but will not display anything
when I select All Programs.

Any ideas on these?

Thanks so much.

Just figured it out. I had to download the menu bar restore utility from the
XP tweak page. It fixed both issues (not to mention it put the My Document
and My Network Places shortcuts back on my deskotp (I hadn't even realized
they were gone).
