McAfee Install "Script Error - and then more

Trying to install McAfee Internet Security 8

At installation Wizard I get IE Script Error
Error accessing OLE registry

mcp://C:\DOCUME~1\John\LOCALS~1\Temp\MIS80E~1.TMP\misins.dll::Install.htm

(I have tried the OLEfix, but this has not made any difference).

I have downladed Scripten.EXE, but when I run this, I get an error box
Windows Script 5.6
Error registering the OCX c:\WINDOWS\system32\scrrun.dll

So, with that in mind, I gone Start>run>regsvr32 Scrrun.dll,
But I get "DllRegisterServer in Scrrun.dll failed. Return code was: 0x80004005

In addition to all this I have had Activex issues, as I can't get Windows
Update site to check my computer as it uses Activex, I couldn't use Norton's
on line scanner because it uses Activex, but I have used others that use it,
but they have worked fine, including McAfee's on line scanner.
I have also had an error "Activex component can't create object "Scripting
Dictionary", when trying to install Mcafee a different way (can't remember
how)

I did run four on line scans from other companies and don't have any viruses.

I suggest asking in the McAfee Forums.

Problem is Fixed.

In the end I gave up trying to fix it, and just moved all my data files to
my external hard drive, and then used the Restore CD's with the computer to
reset to the factory defaults (in other words a wipe of hard disk and
re-install). Once I had done that, it installed no problem.
