mailbox.pst has reached maximum size

I have a few hairs left and would like to keep them.

I receive the following message:
Unable to display the folder.
The file C:\windows\application data\microsoft\outlook\mailbox.pst has
reached maximum size. Then states to open and delete unwated info. Problem
is, I can't open anything. I keep getting this message. I have used 2gb tool,
and still no luck.

Any help to get this back up and running would be greatly appreciated!

I am not that familiar with outlook, except for sending and receivng msg.'s.
Please keep as simple as possible.

Many Thanks!

You have to continue to reduce the size of the PST using the crop tool until
SCANPST can repair it. After that, delete what you don't need and compact
the PST. Then create a new PST, make it your delivery location, and copy to
it it the stuff from your old PST that you wish to keep. Alternatively, you
can copy just the current contacts and calendar events and leave the old
mail in the old PST strictly for reference.

Using Windows ME, Office XP Sm Business, Outlook 2000.
I have shrunk it down to almost nothing and it still will not open.
Compacted, still will not open.
My Steps: Run 2gig tool, use mailbox, save to mailbox1, click to start
run repair, click ok, restart computer.
click outlook, opens to gray screen with:
Unable to display folder. The file C:\windows\application
data\microsoft\outlook\mailbox1.pst has reached maximum size..... blah blah
click on outlook today
select data, select mailbox2, compact
then try & open again.
still get the same message as above....

Still need more help.
BTW, I am now totally bald ;-)
