Lost all 'pictures' when browsing

Please help, I think one of my delightful children, or possibly my husband or
even worse me, has done something to Internet Explorer. When I open any page
or start browsing, the page displays none of the images it only has a white
square with a red cross inside. These cannot be accessed by right clicking
and selecting the 'show picture option'. This is a disaster as we are quite
enthusiastic users of ebay and it is hard to bid on an item if you can't see
it!!

I really want my IE to work properly but can't seem to see this problem in
FAQs.

I have had exactly the same, however mine was ok on most
sites but would not display ebay page images only squares
with red crosses.

I have just establish that I was evaluating Zone Alarm Pro
which has a very good firewall I think. As the evaluation
period was about to expire i uninstalled the program then
I would not get the buy now pop up every time I swithched
on.

Would you believe it. The images are perfect again.

Cause: This can happen because of the incorrect settings
in Internet explorer.

In order to resolve the issue, I would suggest you to
Optimize the Internet Explorer Settings:

1. Start Internet Explorer , Click 'Tools' tab in the
Menu bar
2. Click on 'Internet Options' from the drop-down 'Tools'
tab.
3. Under the 'General' tab, click 'Delete Cookies'
button in the Temporary Internet Files section.
4. When asked to confirm, click OK.
5. Click 'Clear History'.
6. When asked to confirm, click OK.
7. Click 'Delete Files' button.
8. Select the Delete all offline content check box, and
then click OK.
9. Click 'Settings'.
10. Adjust The amount of disk space to use to 10 MB.
11. Click View Files.
12. When the View Files window appears, press CTRL+A to
select all files, and then press DELETE.
13. When asked to confirm, click Yes, and then close the
window.
14. Click OK to close the Settings dialog box.
15. Click the Security tab.
16. Click the Internet icon.
17. Click the Default Level button if available, and then
click Apply.
18. Click the Privacy tab.
19. Click the Edit button. If sites appear under Managed
Web sites: in the Per Site Privacy Actions window, click
Remove All, and then click OK.
20. Click the Default button if available, and then click
Apply.
21. Click the Connections tab.
22. For each item listed under Dial-up and Virtual
Private Network settings, do the following:
a. Select the item (connectoid), and then click
Settings.
b. Clear all of the checkboxes, and then click
OK.
23. Click LAN Settings.
24. Clear all of the checkboxes, and then click OK.
25. Click the Advanced tab.
26. Click Restore Default, and then click OK.

Regards,

Ram.
