Hello people.

Do you know any free program that can be used to draw diagrams for PC
networking (like Visio (sp?)) ?

(e.g. it has elements like servers, routers, modems...)

I have use the Draw application from OpenOffice to do a couple of simple
network diagrams.

There are icons available that can be imported into the OpenOfcice
Gallery that can be used in Draw. For example, I found a bunch of Cisco
icons here:

http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/503/2.html

I downloaded the icons in the PowerPoint format and opened them in
OpenOffice. I used these to create new graphic Galleries within
OpenOffice. I could then drag-and-drop these into draw and use connector
lines between them, etc.

If you have OpenOffice, I could send a copy of these Network drawings so
you could see what they look like and are what you want. I could also
make a pdf file from them if that would work better.

You could try Network Notepad:

<quote>
Network Notepad is a program for creating
interactive network diagrams with user definable
management features such as point and click telnet.

I don't have OpenOffice. A 300MHz Pentium is unlikely to run it without
screaming. :/
