Hi everybody,

I'm looking for a software (as free as possible) for working on functional
analysis, flow charting, diagrams...
I need to list, organise, sort, graphicaly draw relationships between
entities...

Not easy to explain, I hope you will understand what I mean.

Any link for a software like this ?
Any link on freeware about quality management, qfd, fmea, creativity would
also be apreciate.

thanks,
GB

Visual Thought is a cross-platform diagramming and flowcharting tool for
the enterprise that runs on Windows 95/NT and UNIX. It lets you
effortlessly create technical and documentation graphics, network
diagrams, flowcharts, org charts, software design diagrams (UML, Booch,
OMT, Objectory, etc.), circuit and logic diagrams and business and
presentation graphics. Choose from a library of drag-and-drop palettes,
or create your own with user-definable shapes. Edit your work easily
with 100 levels of undo. Publish your diagrams into Word or FrameMaker
documents or right onto the Web with GIF and JPEG output and instant

Dia is designed to be much like the commercial Windows program 'Visio'.
It can be used to draw many different kinds of diagrams. It currently
has special objects to help draw entity relationship diagrams, UML
diagrams, flowcharts, network diagrams, and simple circuits. It is also
possible to add support for new shapes by writing simple XML files,
using a subset of SVG to draw the shape.

It can load and save diagrams to a custom XML format (gzipped by
default, to save space), can export diagrams to EPS or SVG formats and
can print diagrams (including ones that span multiple pages).

TeeTree Office is a free flow-charting tool intended for both the
end-user and the developer.

TeeTree Office is easy to use and has many features. Not only can you
quickly draw a flowchart, you can also add animation to the chart,
collapse and expand nodes, import trees from databases and much more.

Behind the scenes, TeeTreeOffice uses the award winning, mature
technology of TeeTree and TeeChart Pro runtime components.

The main purpose of TeeTree Office is to easily create Presentations,
FlowCharts, Diagrams and Flash-like animations, modify and change their
appearance, export to native format, image files and printer, share
created files with other users and configure the many properties it
offers.

Thanks, Mel.

Do you happen to know if any of these programs can produce
Visio-compatible files?

Visio was always a bit expensive, and after Microsoft paid a huge amount
to buy it (I recall 2, Billion!), I assume that it's ultra-steep now. I
used it on the job, and I always liked it. It'd be nice to have an
alternative.

Thank you very much,

Finaly, I prefered teetree for what I have to do but all are good.
I've also found Think Graph very good but it's only for mind mapping, not
for flow chart or anything else.

For Mindmaps, all the free tools that I've tested are :
ThinkGraph
Teetree
mindman personal
Freemind
visual Thought
Dia
Diagram Design
Eve.

There is also an interesting tool called CmapTools, but I'm not able to Save
on my computer (Java installation problem ?)
