Linking to Word .dot Templates

When I link to a Word .dot Template from Front Page, it opens up a web
browser. I want it to open in Word, because I have programming buttons on
the template. Is there a way to do this?

You can control this from a web page, each user would have to.

Sorry, should have read:

You CAN'T control this from a web page, each user would have to change their settings, which may
require them to change their registry.

I presume you intend these "programming buttons" to interact with the local
desktop only, and not with the Web site.

I presume also that you understand many visitors are very suspicious of .dot
files because they contain macros, and macros can be malicious.

Furthermore, I presume it's not acceptable to just tell your visitors to
right-click the link and choose Save Target As.

If so, browse http://www.interlacken.com/winnt/dnld/ and click Forcing File
Downloads (ASP). You'll need to self-register.
