Hello, Have WindowsXP Home (OEM generic) installed.
Can I purchase a "license" and use the disc to install on another unit?
Second unit has Windows98se installed.
Will I be able to install WindowsXP using this disc?
Thank You.
Take Care.

Microsoft will not sell you a product key for an OEM version. OEM
versions are usually tied to hardware purchases, most oftenly a full
system but depending on the supplier your milage may differ from this.

My suggestion would be to purchase a full retail version or if you have
you Win98 CD then you could purchase an Upgrade Version.

You would if you could obtain a valid OEN Product key.

A WindowsXP Home upgrade with SP2 can be purchased for less
than $90US.
