Update for Outlook 2003 Junk Email Filter (KB914454)
Security Update for Excel 2003 (KB905756)
Office 2003 Service Pack 2
Update for Outlook 2003 (KB913807)

These are the updates that fail. While trying to figure out the problem i
did get a message that i was down to 157 meg on the C drive so am attempting
to free up some space. Would that indicate the reason for my install
failure or is there somewhere else to look? Thanks, charlie

Having free space below 200 MB will cause System Restore service to stop making new restore points.
The update process at Windows update / Microsoft Update calls System Restore when it's about to apply updates.

That 'may' be the origin of the screen prompt. Do free up more spcae.

Where did you get the update items? Microsoft Update?

Look to see if you have .log files in your Windows folder for each of these items. They would be named KB914454.log, KB905756.log, etc.
The logs would have (should have) info on exception "errors".

Yes. i received the updates from Microsoft Update. I will check the Windows
folder for those items that failed... I now have 6G free on my C drive and
will try to install the updates again. Thanks for the help. charlie

After trying and failing to install the updates, i rebooted and tried to
install them again. Again, the install failed. Looked for the logfiles in
the windows directory and many KB updates were listed but the four failing
updates had no listing for errors. What do i do now? charlie

Also, just to get the Error from update history:
Go back to Windows Update, but then select View update history. (When you first get to website for Microsoft Update-Windows Update, look at left-hand column, under Options. Press "Review your update history".)
If this is on V6 of Windows Update, you should be able to click on that error note (the red X), and see some info.
