I am running XP home version 2002, SP3, Office 2000, and Outlook 2002.

The last few days I have had automatic updates that want to install SP3
which I already have and security updates for Microsoft Office 2003 which I
do not run.

KB921598 Sec update for MS office 2003
Kb972580 Sec update for MS office 2003
KB969603 Sec update for MS office Word 2003

When the updates go in, it makes my Outlook fail and I have had to
re-install my outlook 2002 twice now to get it to work.

I have never had a problem with automatic updates before. Any ideas as to
what I should be doing?

Best to ask the experts in one of the many MS Office newsgroups.

Automatic Updates if offering Windows XP SP3 or Office SP3 or SP3 for
another application?
...and security updates for Microsoft Office 2003 which I

Is Office 2007 Compatibility Pack (SP1; SP2) installed?
When the updates go in, it makes my Outlook fail...

Define "fail"?

Hi:

I had a trail version of Office 2003 installed but never used. I removed it.

I believe I have installed the compatability pac but not sure if SP1 or SP2

I just get an operation failed error
