Laptop Shuts down every coulpe of minuets no matter what I am doin

About three weeks ago, my computer started randomly shutting down. It did
not matter if I was online or not, the screen would go black and the computer
would shut off. In order to restart the computer, I would have to manually
turn it back on myself. I have gotten a meassage that lists RUNDLL.EXE,
memory usage, and CPU name. I do not get this message every time. I thought
i may have the sasser worm, so i went online and did a scan. Nothing came
up. When I try to scan my pc with my virus software, it shuts down.

Does anyone know how I can figure out what the problem is or how I can find
symptoms of recent viruses?

Look in the Event Viewer under Application and System.

Event ID & the Event Source are very important.

To open the Event Viewer...
Start | Run | Type: eventvwr | OK

For any Events that seem related to the problem...

Double click the event in Event Viewer | Click: the button below the second
arrow (looks like two pages) [[Copies the details of the event to the
Clipboard.]] | Paste into Notepad | Click:

This can also be very useful.
You need to have the Event ID & the Event Source.
