For some reason I am seeing certain words (job, hotel) underlined on all web pages. When I put my mouse over these words I am told to "click for more information." I am then taken to a search results page for these words. I wonder if I accidentally loaded a program or changed my IE 6 browser settings. Can anyone help me eliminate these words to be underlined and used as search terms

Thank you

First eliminate any scumware.

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated with the program's update function
before every use, even when just downloaded. There's also a lot more to do
than just those two programs. CWShredder is also available here:

Isn't JimBee describing something called "Smart Tags" ? I remember that in
one of the IE6 betas smart tags were enabled but apparently MS decided to
not include it in the final version. It would be interesting to see what he
finds out as I see them on some web pages also and have no parasites or
other things on my system. Would MS Office have installed something that
would enable these also ( I have Office 2000 installed) ?

It's similar to Smart Tags, but is usually a symptom of Ezula, in which case
it might be possible to fix it by using Control Panel | Add/Remove Programs
to remove AdText, HotText or TopText. I prefer removing it with an
anti-spyware tool.
