KB933928 Problem

M

Mellowed

This update causes Vista Mail to display "Unable to choose Recipients" when
trying to use the address book. Taking the lead from other suggestions, I
removed Spybot S&D and another one I had on the system, A-SQUARED. Both are
removed and the problem persists. KB933928 is now removed and all is
working OK. There are no other 3rd party security programs installed. AV
program is AVG.

Given the above, are there any other suggestions for the above problem?

One poster reported that resetting Internet Explorer 7 back to defaults help
a browsing problem. He couldn't open the contacts by clicking on the To:
button.

There are a couple of posts on this problem: They have advised rolling
Windows Update to before KB933928. I followed this instruction, and the
problem has been eliminated.
One point to be noted that the uninstalling of each update took me slightly
less than 10 minutes each; with my T4300 1gb dell dimension. The user should
be patient!
I have also changed my schedules to once a week from daily : I hope Microsoft
has a more valid update by next week.

Sorry : I should have said 'Roll back'. i.e. uninstall the most recent
updates upto and including KB933928. (i.e. = that is.. :) ) I uninstalled
KB935807, KB929916 and KB933928. KB935807 was listed as essential, but my
contacts list was useless, so wth.
KB933928 was released on July 11th, and my problems (and many others')
started since then.
Things are ok now. I have asked this wide VISTA to PLEASE keep quite for a
week. Hopefully the geniuses at Microsoft will release updates to updates by
then. They have got used to C++, where the have arrays of pointers to arrays
of pointers to.....

I had trouble with receiving mail, Error messages that server couldn't be
found after it had downloaded soom of my email. Getting same messages several
times after deleting them. Very flakey. I uninstalled KB933928 and it works
great now. Did same on two computers running Vista and it fixed both.
MICOSOFT needs to fix this problem!!!!!
