KB 888402 - System Restore Points Disappearing

My system restore points disappear after only 2 hours of being created. The
event viewer gives me an error:

Event-ID: 1
Source: SR
Symbolicname: EVMSG_DISABLED VOLUME
Description: "The systemrestore filter encountered the unexpected error
0xc000000d while processing the file file_name on the Volume volume_name. It
has stopped monitoring the volume."

The subject KB applies at http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=888402&sd=RMVP
so I called Microsoft for the hotfix but the points still disappear.

Any suggestions??

The KB article refers to running an app. used to
"monitor hard disk volumes ".
Are you running such an application?
