Is it updating or not

Hello, I'm running on a strange problem.
I have autoUpdater disabled.
One time at a day, when I connect to the net at evening, I click the
"In-active" link in the main page with the system summary, where it says:

AntySpyware AutoUpdater In-Active.

This if course causes the updater to be launched manually. I wasn't paying
much attention to the messages, until I seemed to see the same numbers again
and again. Well, I just compared the last three days and I'm always getting:

Updating definitions version 5729 to 5757
and finally
New Spyware definitions 5757 installed.

Then I close the updater window and from MSAS main window again I launch the
updater. The same messages are repeated. It seems as if always I upgrade
from 5729 to 5757 but the next time I run the updater, the same story is
repeated.

Has anyone observed this? Thanks.

Currently this feature is hit or miss.

and download the installer

Thanks, Alan.
I supposed the program would detect a new version of itself, but it didn't.
Got the new version and it installed the latest detection signatures.

As Alan says, things happen (or don't!)

The current design is for definition updates to be automatic, but version
updates to happen by notification and user choice only. There is a process
which, if you've selected the option (I think there's an options!) will
(eventually) result in a popup which states that a new program version is
available, and do you wish to install it.

This functionality can take some time, but it surely should have happened
for everyone by now--the current version was released in mid-July.

When you download a new version, you should be able to just run the
installer, and it will offer an upgrade. I've done this on every system I
administer, and not seen any problems. However, there are situations in
which removing the old version manually before reinstalling fixes problems.
