MSAS BETA Updated Defs. #5787 Updating Problem

Hello,

I am having problems updating the latest definitions on MSAS. #5787 will not
take. I uninstalled several times. Reinstalled the software. Updated the
updater and nothing works. Also am having problems saving my settings. Now
about the updating problem; why is it taking so long to fix this glitch? How
do I save my settings? I can't save the -- 'display the scan results window
after a spyware scan', setting.

Are the diagnostics suppose to be --Definitions Increment Version: 138/138?
It was 140/138. When I hover over the Spyware Definitions in the summary
area, it says I still have Definitions #5785. It has been 2 weeks?? since
there has been any new updates, but new problems pop up and the definitions
remain the same.

Diagnostics below:

Microsoft AntiSpyware version 1.0.701
Windows OS: XP
Windows OS Version Info: 148
Windows OS Major Version: 5
Windows OS Minor Version: 1
Windows OS Build: 2600
Current Path: C:\Program Files\Microsoft AntiSpyware
Install Path: C:\Program Files\Microsoft AntiSpyware\
Session.RunMode: 5
Session.TimeBombDaysRemaining: 214
Session.TimeBombExpirationDate: 7/31/2006
Real-time protection running: True
Real-time protection enabled: True
Security Agents Application Enabled: True
Security Agents Internet Enabled: True
Security Agents System Enabled: True
Security Agents Checkpoints: 59
Definitions Update Date: 12/29/2005 9:20:09 AM
AutoUpdater Enabled: 1
AutoUpdater AutoApply Enabled: 1
Definitions Increment Version: 138/138
Definitions ThreatAuditThreatData: 1345263
Definitions ThreatAuditScanData: 2963787
Definitions DeterminationData: 744384

This software has many good qualities but if it doesn't work correctly,
well, I am not very optimisitic that the updater problem will ever be fixed.

Thanks, ahead, for any reply that may help resolve this problem.

I am having a simular problem, every time I run the update it will update from 5785 to 5787. After the update has been applied I run update again and it will update from 5785 to 5787 again and again.....every time I update it. I am running Win 2000 and Noton Internet Security, I run this and 2 other spyware programs and everything comes up O.K. I don't have any idea of how to correct this, need help. Cartright

I have had also the same things: one two PC it's OK and on one its always
update from 5785 to 5787. I have simply remove MAS and re-instal it from
www.microsoft.com. Now it's OK.
