Internet Explorer tabs

When I am viewing a screen on the internet and go into a new tab my
understanding of that was I could have more than one page open at a time but
when I click on the tab at the top the internet just freezes and nothing
happens when I go into the task manager it shows as not responding and I have
to shut the internet down and restart again.

I can work ok on the internet as long as I don't want to open a seperate page.

Can someone please advise me on how to fix this issue

Are you running Windows Live Toolbar? If so, select View, Toolbars, and
uncheck Windows Live Toolbar. That's all it took to solve the freeze on
new tab opening problem I had with IE.
