Internet explorer search

I often just type my search "word" into the address bar.
There is something making that feature bring up unable to
locate page. I have used Ad-ware and AOL spyware
software. It shows that i had some kind of spyware that
included messing with the search engine. I also have
scanned my computer over and over for virus's. I have to
re-install Internet explorer for it to work properly. Any
ideas??

Many issues of this kind are seen of late. Installing AOL 9.0 seems to cause this problem. It would be great if you can do the following:

1. Run HijackThis and generate a log file
2. If running XP, run Tasklist.exe /M >C:\Tasks.txt from the Command Prompt and send the two logs to me.

Here is the standard advice for this issue (but does not seem to work in this particular case)

Download the fix - Reset Search:
