Internet Explorer - No longer working

On my home computer, I downloaded a software program that
detects and deletes adware and spyware on your system.
However, the software appears to have deleted something
from IE 6.0, as I keep getting the "page cannot be
displayed" error when I try to access the Internet.

How do I fix this?

P.S. My operating system is Win 98. I contacted my cable
company and my cable modem is operating normally.
