Internet Explorer 6 Help please

Hello All, i originally could not open quite a number of links on
websites, a fault came up where it said it had to close I.E. it had
quite a number of faults in the window i cannot remember what most
where now.
The fault that comes up on the first part says, Error Signature
AppName iexplore.exe Appver: 6.0.2900.2180 modname mshtml.dll Modver:
6.02900.2722 offset:6.0.2900.2722 there was another box inside this
box with even more faults.
I was Advised to untick "Third party browser extensions (requires
restart)" in Advanced I.E. options, this has sorted the problem out
temporary.

I did a "sfc scannow" that said i had Missing DLL’s in Cache and of
course i have not got a Windows Pro CD, CD 2 to replace DLL’s that
are missing whatever DLL’s they are. I have a windows pro sp2 media
center pc

I do not wish to do another Packard bell Smart Restore as it will be
the third, and i have now placed all my information on there, but
after each restore i have had problems.

I have noticed one or two things since i have Disabled Third party
Browser extentions, i have Skype, and it has a Beta/Ebay Toolbar in
Internet Explorer, this disappeared from I.E. and it will not Appear
again.

When i place back Third party browser they appear, but i get the close
box problem.

Its just now the others, iexplore, inc svghost there are a few entries
for this one, has a fault when that close another window appears
inside the close window fault box with many faults.

I cannot of course fix I.E. like with 5.5 etc. Cannot just uninstall
it either, so don’t know what the answer is to this.

I know its only Skype but what else is it stopping?

Maybe awaiting I.E. version 7’s arrival, to replace or repair
missing Dll’s???

I also tried that I.E. fix zip on another post, it said, this The File
IEXPLORE.EXE on Windows XP Pro Service Pack 2 CD is Needed below it
says this C:WINDOWSInfi386 i have not got any Windows xp
installation CD’s with my near brand new computer, what do i do
please.

Do not know if it was ok for my to download and try that I.E. Fix but
it came up with that just above.

With the evidence of the Fix, and the sfc /scannow seems i have a bit
of a problem.

You can also try removing the xp sp2 update and reinstall it.

Suggest scanning for spyware w\ hijackthis,adaware,ewido,etc. As I
don't know where you downloaded I.E. fix from.Also your i386 files
should be on a hidden partition on the Hdd.proprietary manus. such as
Dell,Compaq and such,do not sell you the computer with a complete cd
version of M$ windowsGot any friends w\xp pro cd?
