Installing Earthlink's TA2004

I'm having a problem installing Total Access 2004 on my
Dell computer with Windows XP pro. I contacted Earthlink a
number of times and they can't seem to help me at all.
I have the CD but can't seem to install it, have tried
using, run/ as suggested by Earthlink entered
(D:\Setup.exe\Window etc.) I get an error message. I
downloaded TA2004 and still can't get it to work. I'm new
to PC's so maybe I'm missing a step, but I've followed the
instruction in the READ ME, and on Earthlinks site on how
to install TA2004 but I don't get an install window. Hope
someone can point me in the right direction.

The "Total Access" software is basically a layer to help
users configure Internet Access and Email. Both of those
features are built into XP. Depending on how you are
connecting to Earthlink (Modem/DSL) the Network
Wizard will walk you through the process. Once online
there are numerous web pages at Earthlink to help you
setup Email and other features using Outlook Express &
Internet Explorer. Since it is a Dell, I would suspect that
it came shipped with AOL pre-installed. You might want
to go to Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs scroll the
list and remove (Uninstall) any AOL/ Real Audio and AOL
Instant Messenger applications they (Dell) have loaded.
I haven't used any of Earthlink's software for many years
and don't know if any useful applications are on the
disk (AdSubtract, Firewall, etc) that you might benefit
from installing.
