Installation problem

Hi. I used to have Quicken 98 Deluxe installed and running on my PC (windows
XP) I then installed Quicken 2006 which overwrote Quicken 98. I dont like
Quicken 2006 so I tried to re-install Quicken 98 but when I insert the disc I
get a box pop up entilted:
"16 bit Windows Subsystem"
this is what it says in the box:
"C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT. The system file is not suitable for
running MS-DOS and microsoft windows applications. Choose 'close' to
terminate the application."
This seems to imply that I can't install it and yet it used to be on.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Regards
Andrew.

c:\windows\system32\autoexec.nt. The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS

Replace the standard version of autoexec.nt/config.nt by copying a backup copy
located in %windir%\repair\ to %windir%\system32\
(NB: %windir% is typically C:\Windows)

Start>Run and type in this without the quotes:
"cmd /c copy /y %windir%\repair\autoexec.nt %windir%\system32"
