Installing older software

I am having difficulty installing Quicken 2000 on my new laptop. When I
insert the disk, it asks me if I'd like to install Quicken. I say 'yes' and
nothing happens. The disk is fine because I tried it on my husband's
machine. Trouble shooting with Quicken says I may have missing or corrupt
problems with the 16 bit subsystem. I've tried researching it on the site
but none of the fixes have helped. I reinstalled three files to the System32
file and ran a virus check which showed nothing. McAfee did block and delete
a file several days ago but it appears it appears to be OK. Quicken also
suggested I check knowledge base articles Q222975 & Q165214 but the knowledge
base denies knowing any such numbers. Any suggestions on where I go from
here? Thanks very much for any help you can give me.
