Inputting Phone numbers in contacts

When I'm in outlook and I'm entering a new
contact....everytime I enter a phone number a dialouge box
comes up attempting asking me to input dialing information
and will not go away or let me do any other task. Is there
any way to stop outlook from trying to dial out?

If you answer the prompts once, you won't see that dialog again. It's not trying to dial out, but trying to determine your local area and country code so it knows how to format your phone numbers.
