Importing Identities

Hallo!
i have windows vista home basic and i tried to import my old winxp outlook
express identity with a free program called 'Outlook express freebie backup'
unfortunately in windows mail i cannot restore the backup due to the
'identity' different structure
now when i try to manage ididenties from windows mail it says that there are
more than 1 identity, but when i try to manage i got an error message (like
there r 2 default identities on the system..i wish to restore the windows
mail like it was before i mess it up ..please help me out

Windows Mail does not use the Identities, they were removed. The only
product that will mimic Identities is WMID from http://www.oehelp.com

The message you see is the same, I see and the only Identities are on other
drives which makes me wonder how in the heck they can figure out there are
other Identities. My version of Vista was not an upgrade from XP. OEQB is
not installed. The Identities from the XP drive were not imported and in
fact don't even reside in the default folder. So how can there be other
Identities found yet there it is plain as day. It has nothing to do with the
use of OEQB.

Don't expect Outlook Express programs to work with Windows Mail unless
otherwise stated and right now I have no desire to do anything for Windows
Mail, hence the reason it's stays Outlook Express Quick Backup (OEQB).

Outlook Express Freebie Backup was pulled due the the nature of the program,
it seemed to be way over the heads of the average users.

To get WinMail back to what it was, delete the Identities subkey and it
Vista will recreate a new one. Close WinMail

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Identitites

START | Run
type in regedit
and press ENTER

Navigate to the above subkey and delete it then reboot the computer.

When you import from the backup, make sure you choose to import from a
directory and not an Identity. Then follow the steps here:
