IE6 sp2- Visual C++ abnormal program termination - Help

Hi Guys,
have been trying to sort out my computer, with the amount of time it takes
to open web pages etc., and have tried a few things, but somewhere along the
way I must have deleted something to do with IE6, when I try to open some of
the icons in the control panel. e.g. administrative tools, network
connections all I get is a box saying: Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library.
Program C:\WINDOWS\explorer.exe. abnormal program termination Then reloads
the desktop with some of the programs that were in the systems tray
missing. Would appreciate any advice on how to fix my problem
