IE6 Default Print Margins

I can't change the printer margins within IE6 Page Setup. My OS is WinXP.
The defaults are .25 inches for right and left and .166 inches for top and
bottom. Each time I attempt to double the margin sizes (i.e. .5, .5, .33,
..33) and hit OK, the margins immediately revert to the defaults. The only
way I can change the margins for any given print job is within Print Review.
The margin changes I make within Print Review last for that one print job
only. To further confuse the situation, it appears that the default margins
set in the registry at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\PageSetup are .75 for all four margins. Any ideas or suggestions
would be appreciated.

You left out a crucial piece of information: the make/model of your
printer!

I have two printers: an HP Laserjet 1200 and an HP PSC 2175 multifunction
printer. The problem exists for both.
