IE not displaying images/pages correctly

I just downloaded SBC Yahoo DSL and now SOME IE pages I
view are very messed up. Many pages look normal, but on
others, such as espn.com and bankofamerica.com, most of
the images on the screen do not appear (the appear as an
X in a the box). In addition, the links and other
graphics are very distorted.

The strange part is that many other pages are just fine.
Yahoo would not help me with the problem even though
their
software install caused it. I would really appreciate if
anyone has an answer. I am using Windows 98 with IE 6 (I
had an earlier version of IE but upgraded today hoping
that it would fix the problem).

Earlier someone suggested downloading mozilla instead of
using IE, but I'd prefer to stick with IE since it is the
most widely used and supported browser.
Thanks-

I am having the same problem. Yahoo could not help, Dell,
who I have, also could not help. If you find a fix please
let me know. My email is (e-mail address removed)

I am going to try to contact the Microsoft support number
that SBC-Yahoo support gave to me. It is very strange
because some pages seem to work perfectly while on others
the graphics barely show up at all.

Let me know if you find a fix. Some pages work well for
me also. Ebay and bankofamerica do not work properly for
example. I think we are having the same problem. If you
go to View then down to encoding and change it, the page
usually displayes properly but when it goes to the next
page it is messed up like before. You have to change the
encoding on every page. I sent in a question to microsoft
email support and they were unable to help me. Hopefully
the # Yahoo gave you will work.

thanks for you reply
