IE 6 won't display some web pages

Hi,

A little baffled by this one, so any thoughts/advice are
much appreciated.

IE 6 has recently stopped displaying the home pages of a
few web sites (in particular, espn.com and cnnsi.com).
These used to display in IE 6 and open fine in NN6/7,
Mozilla and Opera 6/7.

In IE, once the page says it's done, I can view the
source, see the code but nothing displays on my screen.

I have tried to access these sites with and without
virus/firewall software on. No difference.

Thanks!
Craig

Check your HOSTS file (it may also be called HOSTS.SAM)
and make sure you don't have any static IP entries listed
in the file. If you are running WinNT/2K/XP, it will be
in this folder:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc

You can use Notepad to open the HOSTS file. You may need
to "tell" Windows to use Notepad to open the file.

Applications like web accelerators, TweakMasterDNS, etc.
can add static IP entries for the
Windows Update site into your HOSTS file and when this
happens you will get the 0x80072F76 error message.
IT worked!!

I just deleted all the entries, but you can be selective,
and delete just the ones you mentioned.

Tried it and I can get Yahoo again!!
