IE 6 won't access some secure sites

Hi,
I have 2 PC's at home for internet access. One is a company laptop that has
Win 2000 Pro and the other is my desktop with Win XP Home. Both have IE 6.0
SP1 with 128 bit security. The laptop can access all secure sites and run
Java apps, but my desktop can't. On some of the pages that the laptop can
access the pages have buttons and appear to have scripts embedded in them,
however my desktop does not show these buttons. Is there something in the
desktop browser settings I can change to fix these problems?. I've already
tried all the suggestions in the" Page cannot be displayed" info. Thanks
