IE 6 child window problem PLEASE!

Windows XP
1st problem. When I click on a link that opens a child or
pop up window (such as the New Post Button). The child
window opens but is transparent in the middle and never
shows anything. I can open a child window in AOL with the
explorer, but not IE 6??? That is how I am doing this now.

2nd Problem. Windows update gives me the ability to "Scan
for Updates", then the option to "Review & Install", the
the button to "Install Now". When I hit "Install now" the
EULA comes up asking the accept or decline
acknowledgment, then nothing. It never starts downloading
even after all night. I have a cable modem and no other
problems with downloads.

Also, when I have tried to "C:\Windows\Windows Update
Setup Files\ie6setup.exe" /c:"ie6wzd.exe /d /s:""#E" to
reinstall IE6, again nothing. HELP?
