ICS newbie help please

Jamie

Hi, ive got xp pro, and a small network of *nix and windows boxes.
While we were on ADSL, we were fine, but since we moved, and onto
ISDN, our interent connection is via a USB device on the XP Pro box.
All the other boxes have statis IPs.

Can i just istall ICS or will it become more complicated. The box
witht he internet connection does most of the P2P uploading so its
pretty essential it stays up. I dont want to screw it up and spend
hours fixing. It is pretty simple though isnt it?

Thanks
J

Here's a tip - get a real ADSL modem (stand-alone type) and get a real
router and don't worry with ICS. You'll be happier and have less
headaches/worries. Both can be purchased for less the 50 or US dollars
each.

Hi Thanks :) We already have 1, and still use it, however where we are
now we can only get ISND :( we've gone from 4/2 Mb ADSL to 128/128 kb
ISDN :(

Cheers

Still, that same concept is true, dump the USB ISDN modem and buy a
real-stand alone ISDN modem.
