I get an error message each time I attempt to open outlook

I get an error message each time I attempt to open outlook that says: "unable
to open your default email folders. could not open the item. try again".
after pressing try again, i get a message that says would you likd to open
your default file system instead

You need to open the Mail applet in Control Panel and fix your broken mail
profile.
