It sounds like you may have gotten into Full Screen View - If you don't see
a little toolbar containing a "Close Full Screen" button somewhere on your
screen just press the Esc key or move your pointer to the very top of the
screen to activate the Menu & open the View Menu, choose Full Screen to
return to whatever regular view was last used.
If that isn't the problem you'll need to supply more specific detail,
including the version of Word you're using.
I had the same problem with word 2000 ver 9.0. Try the suzanne barnhill link
contained in her reply. I followed the Rado instructions "If you have never
edited the Registry before" to delete the corrupt registry value for toolbars
steps 1 to 4 and "everything in the garden was lovely." After thinking that
I had hidden the menu/toolbars, and spending hours trying to fix it, it was
nice to see them back again with such a simple fix.
