HP Director

Since installing I/E 7, I cannot use the shortcut on the desktop to open the
HP Director. On uninstalling I/E it will work, on reinstalling it will not. I
get an error window: 'Runtime Error. Program;
.....mfiles\Hewlet-Packard\Digital Imaging\bin\Hpqdirec.exe.' This application
has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way' I have
reinstalled HP software and no joy. Hp suggested a security fault in the
permissions level in windows, but it wasn't, and then suggested I contact
Microsoft, but before I do can any one help.
Thanks

HI,
I had the same problem after i installed IE8 . I contacted HP and was told that IE 8 was not compatible with the HP program . I was also told that IE 7 would be fine if i were to install a patch or patches that would would make it compatible with HP . I'm sorry i thought i had saved the links to the patches , but it looks like i did not . If you e-mail HP support , i am sure they can supply you with the links . I went another route . I went back to using IE 6 and downloaded mozilla firefox 3.5.3 which is similar to IE7 and 8 , and is also a safe webbrowser . Now the director works just fine .
