HP Director

Since reinstalling XP I cannot use the HP Director shortcut on the desktop, I
can use the HP Photo Imaging but not the Director Icon, under security I have
altered permissions as suggested by Hp but no joy they suggest I now contact
Microsoft as it has to caused by windows. I have reinstalled Hp twice. Could
I create another short cut and if so how?

Try here: Start>All Programs>HP>HP Director
If you click there will it start the Director? If yes, delete
the old icon on desktop. Then, rightclick HP Director again
and click Create Desktop icon. If no, you may need to reinstall
the HP Director Software again from the CD that came with
your printer. You can do a custom install for just the Director.

I am having the same problem. I have reinstalled my scanner 3 times already.
