Computer: Packard Bell Easynote MB86-P-019
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo T5450 (1.66 Ghz)

Please note that I am NOT computer-literate.
My Outlook items were lost when I reinstalled Outlook 2007(don’t ask …).
Through “i-sure†(Iron Mountain), over the internet I have a daily backup of
my C:\ disk and this includes the Outlook files under
“C:\users\MyName\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlookâ€.
I retrieved my backup into “C:\users\MyName\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlookâ€.
I extracted the “.pst†files using the Outlook sequence “File – Import and
Export Wizard – Import from another file – Personal Folder file (.pst)â€,
browsing down to “C:\users\MyName\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlookâ€.
All emails contained in the standard Outlook Items Folders came back: i.e.
the Inbox mails, Sent Items, Deleted Items …
In All Outlook Items, however, I had created and filled with emails a number
of folders other than the standard Outlook ones. Only one of these came back.
Curiously, it is a folder rather low down in the hierarchy of non-standard
folders and it came back with its two sub-folders and the emails contained in
them intact.
I assume that, if that one is there, the other folders I created in All
Outlook Items must be too.
Is there a way to import them back to All Outlook Items? With or without the
original folder organization?
Many thanks for any assistance. I am lost.

When you retrieve your backed up mail file, save it to your Documents folder
and NOT its default location.
Start Outlook
File>Open>Data File......browse to the file you just downloaded and open it.
Examine Folder Tree view of Outlook, you will have a second set of Personal
Folders, is all your folders/mail there?

If not then something went wrong with your origonal backup process

Wrong thing to do. Open the PST instead with File>Open>Outlook Data File. We
also don't know how the backup was created and whether or not Outlook was open
at the time the backup took place. It could be that your backup file is
incomplete.
