How to remove a shape shadow in PPT07

I have some PPT03 presentations and I have been switched to PPT07. When I
open these presentations there is a shape shadow showing on some of the text.
When I remove it, save the changes, close the presentations and re-open them,
the shape shadow has re-appeared. There is no text shadow selected and no
fill for the text box. I do not want a fill for the text box.

How do I get rid of the shape shadow so that it is actually gone for good
and does not reappear when I re-open the document?
