How to become a MVP?

That's make sense. I was just curious how else they would do it. A post to

If I see someone who I believe should be considered, and their
address is faked, I simply ask them to contact me privately.

Why do they contact potential mvp's by email. Many people (and usually the
good ones) use fake email addresses in newsgroups, not just a munged
address, but a fake one. How would ms contact them in that case?

If that arises usually one of us gets asked - we may have been in
communication anyway, or may put a post here just asking the person
concerned to send an e-mail. There is not much else they can do if
someone is trying to be totally anonymous. MVP status is not something
you 'apply' for - indeed in my experience many new MVPs have been
totally surprised by the offer.
