Hi,

How far back in time was the computer restored to?

What happened was the computer was restored to a time before Office was
installed. This will remove all the registry settings and Office files that
are monitored by System Restore, and the rest will remain giving a partial
install of Office.

The best time to use System Restore is immediately after a problem is
detected, and use a restore point just before the problem started. This will
lessen the chance of removing needed files, registry entries.

If a repair if office using he CD will not work, take a look at the article
Ramesh Srinivasan posted.

If that fails to resolve the problem, then you should have the option to
UNDO the last System Restore. http://bertk.mvps.org/index.html

Options at this point:

1. Use a restore point after Office was installed.

2. Post a question as to problem that prompted the restore and maybe it can
resolved without restoring the computer.

3. UNDO the restore that caused Office to stop working, uninstall Office and
use the original restore point. Then reinstall Office.

Hi,

I restored the computer to yesterday state (only 1 day), and Office was
installed long before that, and i cant uninstall (change/remove) the Office,
and when i try to install from the CD again, it says that no patch was found.

thank you for your response, i really appreciate it

Hi,

If the problem is not resolved, I would suggest you UNDO the restore and
find another solution. What was the reason for the restore in the first
place? And was there a Office patch installed just before the restore?
