How do I uninstall drivers that Device Manager does not allow

Hey All,

I would need to remove a network driver, but Device Manager does not allow
me and says something like "it might be needed for booting".

The uninstall would be necessary as while booting I receive a blue screen of
death if the network dirvers are enabled and I want to reinstall these. I can
uninstall standard hardware drivers, but that does not help. I cannot however
unistall e.g. WAN miniport drivers, or something called "direct parallel" and
"Microsoft Tun Miniport Adapter".

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
BTW, the reboot blue displays the error code:
0x0000007E
(0xC0000005, 0xED4B04D0, 0xF8B96FC8, 0xF8B96CC4)

I don't pretend to know anything about your devices, but if you boot
into SAFE MODE you should be able to do what you want.

If you can bypass the network startup, go into device
manager, open up the network cards section, click on the
network cards you need to remove and select to remove. At
the confirm dialog, (one with the 'might be needed to boot')
click on yes anyway. After the removal, click on ok to
restart. If your card has a separate driver package
installed as part of a utilities package for that card, you
will need to uninstall that from the uninstall page first.
