How do I send pictures in windows mail? Even cut and pasting?

Surely we can't be expected to copy all this code and go through all these
steps, etc., to simply forward an e-mail.

It's not photos I trying to forward, just an e-mail that has graphics on it,
and all the graphics will get stripped away when I forward it.

Someone please help. Thanks.

Use Message | Forward as attachment.

hello,
my name is jacqui,
I am trying to figure out why i can not seem to insert my 'signature'
pictures in an e-mail???? when i try it tells me that one or more pictures
could not be found....do you still wish to send it? could someone possibly
e-mail a response or a 'fix' to (e-mail address removed)? I am not a very 'smart'
computer user nad i am trying but this is soooo frustrating.!
p.s. it is windows vista i am using...

Make sure you reference the images with the full path to the image and not
the relative path.

Oh, how I wish I could say this helped, but it doesn't. In previous OE with
XP, it was a simple copy/paste for 99% of images. In Windows Mail, if I want
an image to go, I have to "save as" (and I don't always want to save
something) and then insert into the e-mail.

Is there any other work-around?

Thanks,
Susan

YES YES YES - between advice from Steve & Gary, I solved it. I'm almost
afraid to say what I did for fear of undoing it.

Here you go -
tools
options
security - here you want to UNCHECK "Block images and other external content
in HTML e-mail"
click Apply
OK

That fixed it for me. Hope it sticks.

I don't understand how this would help....tools/options/security then
unchecking the box marked "Block images and other external content
in HTML e-mail"
this box is under the heading of 'Download Images'-wouldn't this pose more
of a threat to your computer to uncheck the box?

It's your call. The increase in vulnerability is very small, especially
if your antivirus definitions are up-to-date. For most people the
increased usability (when allowing HTML/images) far outweighs
any minor loss in security posture.
The ability to block images is more useful to people plagued by
porn spam.

hey, you know what happened? i copied a pic from one email and tried to paste
it to another, it didn't work. i tried everything, even though it showed the
pic was there, the moment i pressed send, it showed that silly little X box
as the image. i got so frustrated, after half an hour, i double cliked the
message i was copying, so that it fully opened on my screen, i copied, then
pasted onto the new email AND IT WORKED!!! so obviously the email needed to
be opened properly before OE could recognize what you were copying. obviously
just selecting and copying does not work, the email you copy from needs to be
open. anyhow, hope this helps you..

Carla's question makes sense. It's counter-intuitive to have to enable
downloading images in emails to be able to send your own images in emails.
Certainly if you are writing the email, you want to see your own messages.

At the very least, a bar should come up asking me if I want to enable images
in my new email, like the bar that comes up when I open an email with images
in it. Instead, I have to remember to go through those menus every time I
send an email that contains a link to an image on the internet. This should
be fixed!

People who send images often also receive images. So, for most
people, it makes sense to have a global setting for images.
When you start adding additional settings for every conceivable
scenario, pretty soon the program becomes way too complex and
cluttered.

how do you mean 'in another message?' do you mean a new message? a reply to
message? a forward on message? as an attachment to these messages or just to
appear on the message? when you make your post, you need to be thorough so we
don't have to reply 50 times for one issue.

OK, MAYBE I AM JUST AN IDIOT....After reading these posts about why it is
none of us can view or send images in Vista I am kinda feeling like WHY do we
need all of this dialogue and why aren't the Microsoft people remedying this
issue? I am still in the "BLACK HOLE" unable to send images or receive
them...do not need a lot of discussion...need an answer from
MICROSOFT...CORRECT THE PROBLEM. Handle it, no more discussion!

Well, there is no "one answer fits all" when it comes to resolving
difficulties some people are having with Windows Mail.
Without discussion, we don't know what you are doing wrong.

"(e-mail address removed)"
Windows Mail is better at attaching pictures, and other attachments,
if you have already closed all other programs they are open in.

I don't know what this "none of us" means. No problems here.
