How do I send pictures in windows mail? Even cut and pasting?

To be able to send pictures in email they either have to be forwarded or
inserted. If forwarding, you should remove all the headers before sending
it out.

Scarce info provided. But if it is a image that was sent to you which
you wish to forward...

Save the image to a convenient folder on your hard drive (try a
right-click|SAVE IMAGE).
Compose new mail, and attach that image.

One easy way to do this is to right-click on the saved image, and choose
SEND TO|MAIL RECIPIENT.

You cannot cut and paste images into OE. You have to specify a filename.
So use Insert | Picture and designate an image file.

I'm saving images, then inserting them into my email and I still get this
message....I am not impressed at all with the new Vista, Windows Mail or any
of it. Takes me longer to do things. Any ideas why I'm still getting this
message????

Under Tools | Options | Send | HTML Settings make sure send pictures with
messages is checked.

I tried to choose Insert and Picture was grayed out so the only way to send
the picture is to send it as an attachment or forward it??? I think I'll
start using my IP's email

Was your cursor in the text area of the composition window when you tried to
Insert?

Insert | Picture only works in HTML. For plain text use Insert | File
Attachment.

I'm disgusted with Vista. Nothing works. Microsoft has converted their OS
to a crippled webviewer with text Email. Simple tasks are all broken. I
can't explore files even with view hidden files clicked on. I can't save
files, can't change settings can't do squat. Simple things with no solutions
like simply sending a photo -I've to spend my time on the net sifting through
other people's frustrations. I saved a GIF and there is no program provided
that will open it without "protecting me". I can't send it because Vista
thinks it is active X. I can't save it because it can only save BMP and JPG.

I paid top dollar for a computer that is nearly disfunctional. Old (almost
new) peripherals don't work. Fortunately, I have a 90 day money back
guarantee from Costco. I'm about to to put the trigger and return this POS.
The reason will be Vista is incapable of doing anything I normally do. Sorry
about my frustration but I am pissed at spending $1700 for a PC with an OS
that makes my investment worthless. Linux, which I despise, is about as
useless as Vista has become - except there you get what you pay for.

Well, get the box out, pack it up, send it back. Don't waste your time
complaining, get to it.

Personally I'm having no problem on my old Dell 8400. Popped in a newer
video card (which it needed already) and that was after installing Vista
Ultimate with all the hardware that came on that computer several years
back.

It works as advertised. Some things suck but some things sucked in XP and
2000 and WinMe (ok, a lot of things sucked in WinMe) and some sucked in 98
and 95 and 3.11 and 3.1 and 3.0 and 2.0 and 1.0 (Pascal whoa boy).. Lots of
things suck in Linux too but it's an OS.

If you're having that many problems, I'd say it's either a screwed up setup
or PICNIC. Only one of those can be easily fixed. Save the data, get out the
restore CDs and format and reinstall and this time on the added junk the
companies throw on there, uninstall it ro don't install it at all if given
the opportunity.

I agree that it may a bad install. Or you may be running under a
low-privilege account.

I have also been struggling with Vista for 2 weeks now and I have to say
that the bells and whistles and eye candy are no compensation for the
diabolical hash that perfectly good dialogs and facilities in XP have now
become. It is such a relief to get back onto an XP box!! But it is at least
usable. And I have yet to find any "old" program that won't run reasonably
properly, although my beloved Links Office Assistant has been knobbled..
still working on that one!

I'm not sure how to us Insert Picture and designate an image file. Where/how
do you do this? I've created a signature file in Windows Mail and, rather
than insert text, I have inserted a MS Word file that includes my logo. Now,
when I create email, it enters the text from the file, but not the logo
(picture). Any suggestions?

There is a 4 kb size limit on a signature file.

Did you use Word to create the signature?
Word puts so much bloat in HTML that it is useless for creating a signature
file.
Did you put a picture in the signature?
The picture should be referenced by a link and not included in the signature
file.

You can compose a signature with WinMail and Notepad.
Create your signature in an WinMail mail composition window.
View, check Source Edit.
Click on the Source tab.
Highlight and copy the source code.
Paste the code into Notepad.
Save As "signature.htm". Change signature to your chose of a name.
Use signature.htm for your signature file.

Word is not a good HTML editor as it stuffs the messages with bloated HTML.

You can make a simple signature as follows and use it:

<HTML>
<BODY>
<DIV>put text in here</DIV>
<IMG src="file://c:\myimages\myimage.gif">
</BODY>
</HTML>

Copy and paste that into Notepad and then edit the path to the image to
match the full path of your image on the hard drive and then save it as an
htm file and set it as your signature file.
