how do i prevent other wireless networks becoming available?

I am using the Dell Truemobile Wireless Card, and my home
access point is 2Wire which uses WEP data encryption. My
computer is picking several other available wireless
networks (some which don't have any encryption). I only
care to use my own wireless network, but I keep getting
the annoying popup message "One or more wireless networks
are available" and I keep having to reconnect my wireless
network. How do I resolve this? I only have my wireless
network in the Preferred networks section.

1. unmark to automatically connect to non preferred networks
2. are you broadcasting your SSID? this behavior is sometimes seen when you
turn your broadcast off and others in range are broadcasting.
