how do I get back my mistakenly deleted IE icon? Not a shortcut.

While doing something and obviously not thinking, I mistakenly deleted the
Internet Explorer Icon from my desktop. I created a new shortcut from my
programs and R clicking the Internet Explorer Icon there sending a shortcut
to my desktop .

After doing that, however, I've found that it doesn't bring up the same info
when I right click the new IE Icon(internet options and all the items that
come with that.I.E including deleting my temp folders. )

Any one know how I can get a new IE Icon on my desktop(not a shortcut) so I
can access 'internet options', which I use quite often to delete my temp.
files.

I know I can access internet options from 'Tools' on the top of open pages
but it's so much easier when the icons on the desktop.

Any help would be greatly appreciated .
Thank you

IE-Tools-Internet Options-Advanced and check "Show Internet Explorer
on the desktop"

You can also access Internel Options in Control Panel or from a
shortcut to the relevant applet, inetcpl.cpl

In microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie6.browser, "B B"

Windows version 98SE.
I tried to uncheck , then recheck the box in "internet options>advanced>
show internet explorer on desktop but with no results.

Any other advice?

Also, as far as; "You can also access Internet Options in Control Panel or
from a
shortcut to the relevant applet, inetcpl.cpl"

I'm not sure how I might go about this
