Internet Explorer shortcut Icon

Deleted cookies and my shortcut to Internet Explorer just
brings me to Internet Explorer Properties Dialogue box.
The connection script has been altered. When I rebooted
the ieexplorer icon was replaced with the
classic "connect to internet" (globe) icon. I still have
access to the internet through my other shortcuts to
websites. How do I get my icon back? (it also disappeared
from the Sart Menu)

Go to Display in the Control Panel > on the Desktop tab click The Customize
Desktop Button, in the box that opens > check Internet Explorer, click ok.
HOWEVER, I don't know why deleting your cookies would remove the icon from
your desktop in the first place.

I too lost my IE desktop icon, I believe as a result of
saving a web page to the desktop. Your advice got my
icon back. Thanks. Tom
