Hi,

Can someone pls advise how to change the icon of Internet shortcut.

This is different from desktop shortcut, which when right click - Proporties
- Chanhe Icon.

Right click on Internet shortcut - Properties, doesnt give you the option to
change icon.

Pls advise. Thank you very much.

Peter,

Thank you for your suggestion. But no, it doesnt work that way.

In fact, I have tried right clicking the icon on the Start Menu, on the
taskbar, at the \Document and Settings folder, it just doesnt give me the tab
to change icon.

Actually, I have changed the icon of Internet shortcut before.
Unfortunately, I just couldnt remember how now. For eg., I have the Internet
shortcut to Yahoo!Mail with Yahoo! icon on the Start Menu. Otherwise, it is
the dull IE icon.

Pls.....pls someone tell me how. You know, it's so frustrating that you knew
it, but just simply forget it how now :+(

Thank you Dewey. No, it doesnt work by creating another shortcut. In fact, it
is already a shortcut.

Thank you Ramesh. No, I cant see any Web Document tab. BTW, the document type
is 'any type' where the Internet shortcut is located in "C:\Documents and
Settings\Owner\Start Menu". Anyway, even on the Desktop, there is no 'Web
Document' tab as well. I wish to highlight that I dont have problem with
other shortcut. Thank you very much.

If you're comfortable editing the registry (back up first) ry this:

Start the registry editor (regedit.exe)

Move to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{871C5380-42A0-1069-A2EA-08002B30309D}

From the Edit menu, select New - Key and enter the name of DefaultIcon and
press Enter

Double click Default on the right hand side and change to the icon you
require (use browse)

Select OK

Close the registry editor

Thank you Dewey. No, it doesnt work by creating another shortcut. In
fact, it is already a shortcut.
You mean a URL shortcut? Then you need to use the Web Document tab.
