hotmail/outlook 2003 error: 0x800CCC3D 'Unimplemented method'

A couple of days ago I started getting an error message in outlook2003
when attempting to send/receive from my Hotmail accounts.

Task 'Hotmail: Folder:Inbox Synchronizing headers.' reported error
(0x800CCC3D) : 'The server reported an internal error. The server
responded 'Unimplemented method'. '

I'm not unable to send or receive hotmail message, nor can I delete
existing messages. I tried removing the accounts from Outlook then
linking them back in but this didn't resolve the problem. I also tried
running the Detect and Repair function and that didn't' fix it.

My Exchange emails still send/receive just fine.

Does anyone have an idea about the cause of this problem and how I can
resolve it?

Thanks,

Tim

Are you using HTTP access or the outlook connector and if http, do you have
a paid hotmail account?

I have a free hotmail account that is grandfathered in to being able to
use outlook. It works fine on my other computer with the same hotmail
account.

I've seen this happen. I have one account like that as well. I can access
it from one of my PCs, but another refuses to connect to the account. It
may be an MSN issue.

more info:

This problem is happening on my computer at work and just today I found
out the guy sitting next to me also gets the same error message. He
stopped receiving hotmail message on 4/4 while I stopped receiving the
messages on 4/19.

Could there be something blocked by my work?

I know that where I work, Hotmail (and all the other web-based mail
providers) are blocked. Why not ask your IT staff?
