HOSTS file update Aug 26th

Gordon Darling

For those who use a Hosts file to block Ads/PopUps/etc.

Updated list at http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/hosts.htm

"You can use a HOSTS file to block ads, banners, cookies, web bugs, and
even most java scripts. This is accomplished by blocking the Server that
supplies these little gems. Example - 127.0.0.1 ad.doubleclick.net
blocks all files supplied by the DoubleClick Server to the web page you
are viewing.

This file now includes most major parasites, dialers and hijackers!"

I used to have a little batch that would sit in the tray and could
toggle/disable 'hosts'
It got lost. Where did I get the thing anyway?
Thanks

Go to the Web site and page down and you will see it. Another is
HostsToggle. Google for it.
